The hazards for a cyclist may be:
- impact with an depression or bump
- catching of the wheel with an edge or rut
- collision with vehicle or another cyclist while avoiding hazard
Any hazard near a corner is worst as the cyclist may be signalling a turn
(one handed), watching out for traffic entering the intersection, or
negotiating the turn.
