Hazard - Victoria - Torquay

I have recieved a message from a reader of the roadrepair wiki that states this drain was reported 6 years ago.

On the discussion site the location is described as:
"On the Esplanade, just south of Gilbert Street, there is a water drain with a grate cover.

The gap between the bars of the grate are big enough for a bicycle wheel to fall into the grate up to the axle."

Hello There is a dangerous drain cover on the Esplanade just South of Gilbert Street. The gap between the bars of the grate are big enough for a bicycle wheel to fall into the grate up to the axle. This hazard has been recorded on the Road Repair wikispace http://roadrepair.wikispaces.com/message/view/victoria/1965691 - This street is not suitable for cyclists. - The hazard will cause damage to bicycles - There is a high risk of injury to the cyclist from impact and possible fall. - There is a high risk of injury or death from being stuck by a car while negotiating the road. I have inspected and could find no grate drain cover in the area described.
