Please take action to remove the hazard on Canterbury Tce (Cycleway) that is the 20mm edge of bitumen between the sealed road and filled section following kerb repairs.
Photo and Map attached.
The square edge, in line with the direction of travel of a cyclist, will "trip" a cyclist, throwing them onto the road (into the path of other vehicles). To avoid the hazard, a cyclist has to ride in the path of motor vehicles. There is a risk of collision as the motor vehicles attempt to pass the cyclist.
To reduce the hazard, please replace ALL BOLLARDS. This will prevent a cyclist from being "tripped" by the edge, and give warning to drivers that the road is under repair and not suitable for the cyclist to use.
Please only remove the bollards when the bitumen has been reinstated, or there is no longer a risk to cyclists.
